In Bloom Carnegie Gallery, Dundas ON June 1-24, 2018
This series of paintings are based on the Royal Botanical Gardens, with gardens in both Hamilton and Burlington. Gardens are inherently an artificial creation, manipulated by human hands.I find myself returning time and again to the RBG’s Rock Gardens.I’m fascinated by the use of pattern and colour to create a sense of order within a natural landscape. It’s an ordered and structured landscape, designed to provide peace and solitude, a refuge from urban life. This new body of work is a response to this ordered landscape.
